On March 13, 2003, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration published a proposed rule to establish Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) in the manufacturing, packing, or holding of dietary supplement ingredients and dietary supplements. If finalized as proposed, CGMP will help to ensure that consumers have access to dietary supplements that are free from adulteration and that are accurately labeled.
